ADS-B Test Capability: ADS-B, which consists of two different services ADS–B Out and ADS–B In, will be replacing radar as the primary surveillance method for controlling aircraft worldwide. ATG is gearing up its test equipment for ADS-B Test. These ADS-B Test systems are designed for bench testing the NextGen National Airspace equipment. Aircraft will be visible to ATC in realtime with this new system, thus improving air safety. ATG ADS-B Test equipment provides ADS-B squitters allowing for the test of these more sophisticated systems. ATG equipment has been proven in the field, and the ADG ADS-B test equipment for NextGen requirements will be no exception. There are two main avionic components to ADS-B, a GPS system and a datalink. The GPS must be very high accuracy. This system will allow both pilots and ground to see the same constellation of aircraft. ATG test equipment is already equipped with ADS-B test capability. For more information please contact ATG. ADS-B Will Provide the Following New Services:

Traffic
Pilots using ADS-B In system will be able to view aircraft traffic data including altitude, heading, speed, and distance to aircraft.

Weather
Using Flight Information Service-Broadcast (FIS-B) all aircraft equipped with UAT ADS-B will be able to view weather services.

Terrain
ADS-B In will provide a terrain overlay to cockpit displays.

Flight information
Traffic Information Service-Broadcast (TIS-B) transmits TFRs and NOTAMs to aircraft equipped with either UAT or 1090 Squitter ADS-B systems.

Free Services
The FAA will support service costs.
